Discord voice attendance: manual snapshots, scheduled snapshots, and Shotcaller
Every voice attendance check is a one-time snapshot. Learn when to run /track-activity, when to schedule a check, and when Shotcaller helps.

One snapshot, three ways to use it
Guild Manager does not watch your Discord voice channels continuously. Every voice attendance check records who is in voice at one moment, then saves that result with the activity.
The three options only change who starts the snapshot and how many channels it includes.
| Option | Who starts it | Channels included | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
Manual /track-activity | An officer | One current or selected voice channel | Flexible events where an officer decides when to take attendance |
| Scheduled snapshot | Guild Manager | One voice channel selected in the activity settings | Events that always need attendance at a fixed time |
/track-activity with Shotcaller mode | An officer | All active Shotcaller channels synced to the guild | Raids split across several voice rooms |
None of these options keeps a live attendance monitor running.
Turn on voice attendance first
Open the activity's Attendance settings and turn on Voice attendance. This allows both manual and scheduled snapshots. If it is off, /track-activity will explain where to enable it instead of starting a check.
Voice attendance uses the activity's signup and attendance rules. Those rules decide whether members without an RSVP can be counted and whether absent signups should be marked as no-shows.
Take a manual snapshot with /track-activity
Use a manual snapshot when an officer should choose the exact moment.
/track-activity activity:[select]
The standard command snapshots the officer's current voice channel. An officer can choose another voice or stage channel with the channel option.
Useful options include:
mark-no-shows:truemarks members who signed up but are not in the snapshot.include-deafened:falseleaves deafened members out of the result.include-non-rsvp:trueincludes eligible members who did not sign up.finalize-attendance:trueperforms the final check for members who attended earlier but left before the end.
Guild Manager confirms as soon as it captures the channel, then processes attendance and rewards. Quick runs replace the command reply with the result. If processing takes longer, the reply keeps the workflow ID visible and Guild Manager sends the final summary to the officer by direct message. When the activity has an attendance results channel, Guild Manager posts a copy there too.
Schedule one snapshot
Use a scheduled snapshot when attendance should always be recorded at the same point in an activity.
In the activity's Attendance settings:
- Turn on Voice attendance.
- Turn on Schedule one voice snapshot.
- Choose how many minutes before or after the activity starts it should run.
- Confirm the voice channel. You can use the activity voice channel or select another one for this snapshot.
- Optionally choose a text channel for the attendance summary.
Guild Manager takes one snapshot at that time. An officer does not need to run the command. This setting is separate from Shotcaller and covers one voice channel.
You can still run /track-activity manually before or after the scheduled snapshot. Existing check-ins are kept, so a later run can add newly present members or perform a final attendance check.
Cover several rooms with Shotcaller
Shotcaller is for one manual attendance snapshot that needs to cover several voice channels at once. Enabling the integration does not start attendance, schedule checks, or monitor members continuously.
First, connect the guild's Discord server, add and configure the Shotcaller bot, enable the integration in Guild Manager, and sync the active speaker bots and their assigned channels.
Then run:
/track-activity activity:[select] shotcaller-mode:true
Guild Manager combines the members from all active, synced Shotcaller channels into one attendance result. Run this command in the Discord server configured for the guild.
Without shotcaller-mode:true, /track-activity still snapshots only one voice channel, even when Shotcaller is configured.
Which option should you choose?
- Use the standard command for one room and a flexible check time.
- Schedule a snapshot for one room and a predictable check time.
- Use Shotcaller mode for several rooms checked together by an officer.
If your raid moves between rooms or needs more than one attendance point, take another snapshot. Each run adds a clear moment to the activity record without turning voice attendance into continuous surveillance.
