Aion 2 legion setup: official rules for leaders
Verified NCSOFT rules for legion leadership, names and server transfers, plus Korean legion updates and a first-week officer checklist.
Choose your server and faction before collecting a legion roster. Then agree on officers, event times and who owns the legion's shared resources. The checklist below is our advice; the game rules link to NCSOFT's own policy and patch notes, checked on October 14, 2026.
What NCSOFT has confirmed
Korean service member cap: 128
The Korean service raised the legion cap from 40 to 128 in the 14 January 2026 update. This is a Korean-service patch note.
Pick your server and faction before you recruit
Server transfers exist on global, but NCSOFT's server transfer notice sets limits that matter for a legion:
- Transfers only go to servers within the same faction.
- The character must not be a member of a Legion or have a pending Legion application.
- The character must be level 10 or higher and standing in a village.
Moving a legion means everyone leaves, transfers, and rejoins. Settle server and faction before you build a roster.
Legion Master authority can move if the master disappears
The AION2 Operation Policies let NCSOFT revoke a Legion Master's management authority, or transfer it to another character, at a legion member's request, when the master:
- hasn't logged in to Aion 2 for 30 days or more, or
- has a game usage restriction of 90 days or more.
A legion doesn't die because its founder quit, but someone has to ask.
Inactive legions can lose their name
The same policy lets NCSOFT reset the name of a legion when no member has logged in for 30 days or more. NCSOFT announces the reset first, and a reset name can't be restored.
Disbanding is permanent
The operation policy lists restoration of a disbanded Legion as not available. It also excludes "loss of Legion level due to disbandment" from restoration. So the policy refers to a legion level, but it doesn't say what that level does. Don't disband to "start fresh" unless you mean it.
Officers have permissions, and changes are logged
The Korean 1 April 2026 update added a Record button to the legion window. It logs legion creation, members joining and leaving, legion setting changes, member permission changes, and hideout rental and expiry. Entries are kept for 30 days, up to 300.
The member list shows item level and combat power
Korean updates on 27 May 2026 and 14 October 2026 added item level and combat power to the member list, sorting by either, and the dungeon name when a member is inside one. These are Korean-service changes.
The hideout is rented
Legions can rent a hideout. The Korean 1 July 2026 update added hideouts in more regions, shared one rental across them, and lets members enter the hideout for the region they're in. Entering uses a hideout return scroll. A September 2026 note calls it the legion airship hideout.
NCSOFT's notes don't give the rental price or length. Check them in the client before an officer pays.
Legion Kisk
Legions have their own Kisk. The Korean 25 February 2026 update allowed it in a Sanctuary boss area.
A first-week setup
This part is our advice, not game rules.
- Lock server and faction. Transfers can't cross factions, and members have to leave the legion before they move.
- Create the legion using the requirements your client shows.
- Name a second officer right away. If the master goes quiet for 30 days, a member has to ask NCSOFT to move authority. A trusted officer can make that request.
- Keep ranks small. Leader, officers, members. Add more once you've seen the permission list in your client.
- Record officer decisions. Keep the reason for permission and setting changes where other officers can read it.
- Hold off on the hideout until you know the price in the client and who's paying.
- Plan groups in fives. See Aion 2 party and raid sizes for current group sizes.
- Publish your first events before you recruit, so applicants can check their availability.
