WoW Forever Druid talent builds: bear, cat, moonkin and healer plans
How Forever's Druid trees work for tanking, cat damage, Balance and Restoration, which milestone talents shape each plan, and what changed in beta.
Druids in WoW Forever can tank, deal melee or spell damage, or heal, and Blizzard has spent more effort on making each of those work than Classic ever did. This guide explains how each tree supports a role, which milestone talents define it, and what your guild should know when planning around a Druid.
These are build directions, not point-by-point optimal builds. Talents are still changing in beta. Plan your own allocation in the WoW Forever Druid talent calculator.
How Forever talents work
Talents start at level 10. Every tree has one-point milestone talents at 11, 21 and 31 points, plus a new milestone at 16 points. Talent changes happen at a class trainer in a major city, and dual specialization unlocks at level 40. All of this comes from Blizzard's Hunter and Druid class deep dive.
What every Druid gets
Several old Druid pain points are fixed in the baseline kit:
- Most potions and consumables work in forms without canceling them. Weapon enchants and procs, such as weightstones, Crusader and Windfury Totem, also work in forms.
- Bear, Cat and Dire Bear melee damage now matches your equipped weapon's DPS.
- Omen of Clarity is baseline at level 20 and Nature's Grasp at level 10. Revive gives you an out-of-combat resurrection at 12.
- Lacerate is baseline at level 42. It stacks a bleed up to five times and generates high threat.
- Faerie Fire works in Bear, Cat and Dire Bear Form at no cost. Barkskin works in forms. Hurricane has no cooldown.
- Improved Mark of the Wild is baseline, so no talent points go to the raid buff.
- Tiger's Fury is gone. Its job moves to the Feral talent Shifting Power.
The beta development notes added more: Rejuvenation, Tranquility and Wild Growth can crit, Bear Form's threat bonus went from 30% to 50%, critical strikes in Bear generate double Rage, and Cat Form no longer lowers maximum health.
Feral: bear tank
Feral has two 16-point milestones, one for each form, so bear and cat builds split earlier than in Classic.
- Thick Hide now grants armor in forms based on Defense skill, so Druid tanks benefit from Defense items like other tanks.
- Feral Instinct no longer adds threat. It increases Swipe damage instead, and Swipe hits three targets.
- Feral Charge is the 11-point milestone. It now has a Cat version as well.
- Primal Bite is the bear 16-point milestone. It replaces Mangle, costs 20 Rage, and deals weapon damage with very high threat. The October 1 beta notes roughly doubled its threat.
- Leader of the Pack at 21 points raises party crit for spells and attacks.
- Natural Reaction adds dodge and a chance to gain Rage on dodges.
- Berserk at 31 points works in Bear or Cat for 15 seconds. It grants Fear immunity, resets Primal Bite and lets it hit up to three targets.
Direction: For a dungeon or raid tank, aim for Primal Bite at 16 and Leader of the Pack at 21, then decide whether Berserk is worth 31 points for your content. Thick Hide and Natural Reaction are the survivability choices to weigh against threat and damage talents.
Feral: cat damage
- Shredding Attacks lowers Shred's Energy cost and Lacerate's Rage cost. It leads to the cat 16-point milestone.
- Shifting Power grants 40 Energy instantly at a significant mana cost on a 16-second cooldown. The October 8 notes say it cannot be used at full Energy. Improved Shifting Power cuts the cooldown further.
- Predatory Strikes raises crit damage, and Rend and Tear increases melee damage against bleeding targets.
- Berserk doubles crit chance for Cat Combo abilities while active.
In the Restoration tree, five points in Furor let you regenerate Energy outside Cat Form as if you were in it. Shifting into Bear Form loses that Energy, which Blizzard did on purpose to limit bear-weaving.
Direction: A cat build commits to Shifting Power at 16 and usually reaches for Berserk at 31. Decide early whether Furor's Energy regeneration is worth points outside Feral for your play style.
Balance: moonkin damage
- Genesis increases periodic damage and healing from your spells.
- Nature's Splendor at 11 points extends Moonfire, Rejuvenation, Regrowth and Insect Swarm.
- Insect Swarm at 16 points is a Nature damage-over-time that lowers the target's hit chance.
- Nature's Grace now grants a short burst of spell haste and a shorter global cooldown.
- Eclipse makes Wrath shorten the cast time of your next two Starfires.
- Overgrowth lets Entangling Roots hold up to three targets, and Improved Entangling Roots makes roots hit harder and break less.
- Moonkin Form at 31 points raises party crit for spells and attacks. Every non-healing spell can be cast in it, and Omen of Clarity procs twice as often.
Direction: Balance is built around alternating Wrath and Starfire through Eclipse. For dungeons, Overgrowth gives you real crowd control. Moonkin Form and Leader of the Pack do not stack, so a party only needs one of them.
Restoration: healer
- Gift of the Earthmother at 11 points cuts the global cooldown on Rejuvenation, Swiftmend and Wild Growth by half a second.
- Swiftmend at 16 points no longer consumes the Rejuvenation or Regrowth on its target.
- Reflection gives much more Spirit-based mana regeneration while casting, and Living Spirit raises Spirit.
- Improved Tranquility cuts Tranquility's cooldown by up to 60%.
- Wild Growth at 31 points puts a heal over time on the whole party on a 6-second cooldown, at a high mana cost.
Direction: Restoration in Forever is a heal-over-time healer that plans ahead. Blizzard notes Druids have a narrower healing toolkit than Priests, so pair them with a direct healer in raids.
About the calculator data
The GuildManager calculator currently uses BlizzCon demo data dated September 13, 2026. Blizzard's beta notes have since changed the Druid trees:
- Mangle is now Primal Bite, and Primal Fury became Blood Frenzy.
- King of the Jungle was removed on October 1.
- Shifting Power and Improved Shifting Power were added on October 1 and are not yet in our data.
- Predatory Instincts was renamed Natural Instinct on October 8. It now also raises spell healing based on Intellect.
Use the calculator to sketch ideas, then check those talents against the current beta notes.
For officers
Druids can tank, heal and deal damage, so ask each Druid for a main role and a second role, and remember dual specialization arrives at 40. Blizzard also notes Druids cannot snare, Silence or interrupt, and their crowd control is weaker, so cover those jobs elsewhere in the roster. Our raid sizes and roster planning guide covers buff stacking.
