Aion 2 Daevanion boards: how to spend crystals without wasting them

Plan the whole path before buying the first node

Daevanion boards turn crystals into permanent character growth. A node may grant a stat, improve a skill, or unlock a larger effect. The trap is that you cannot judge a destination by its final node alone. You must pay for the connected path that reaches it.

This guide uses regional game information available on September 12, 2026. Board availability, costs, reset rules, and English names may differ on global. The current client always wins.

How a board path works

Each board starts from a central point. You unlock connected nodes one at a time and move outward. A strong effect at the edge may require several ordinary stat nodes along the way.

When you select a destination, count the entire route:

• The crystals needed for every locked node on the path.
• The character-level requirement for those nodes.
• The value of the stats and skills you must take on the way.
• The opportunity cost of delaying another useful path.

A cheap destination with weak intermediate nodes may be worse than a slightly longer path where every purchase helps your build.

Read the effect before spending

Boards can contain general stats, passive skill improvements, active skill improvements, and stronger special effects. In the regional interface, grey nodes mainly grant stats, green nodes improve passive skills, blue nodes improve active skills, and orange nodes carry stronger special effects. Color tells you the kind of reward, but it does not tell you whether that node belongs in your build.

Open the node details and answer three questions:

1. Does this improve a skill I use in my normal rotation?
2. Does the effect work in the content I play most?
3. Are the connecting nodes useful too?

If the answer is no more than once, compare another path before committing.

General, PvE, and PvP boards use different crystals

Regional versions include general boards such as Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel, and Triniel. Ariel is associated with PvE progression, while Azphel is associated with PvP. Their crystals are not interchangeable.

Read the full item name before spending or crafting. A general Daevanion Crystal, an Ariel crystal, and an Azphel crystal may all look related while serving different boards.

Global may launch with a different set of available boards. Do not build a complete route from a regional screenshot until you can see the same board in your client.

Pick one problem for the board to solve

Start with what goes wrong during play.

If your normal rotation feels slow, inspect effects tied to combat speed or cooldowns. If damage is the problem, look at the skills you press most and bonuses that stay active through the fight. If you die before finishing mechanics, a defensive route may produce more progress than another small damage increase.

Avoid dividing crystals evenly across every direction. Half-built branches give you their early nodes but delay the effects that made each route attractive.

A simple priority works well:

1. A skill or broad stat you use in nearly every fight.
2. A route whose intermediate nodes also help.
3. A specialised PvE or PvP effect once you regularly play that content.
4. Narrow bonuses after the main build works.

Where crystals come from

Quest rewards and progression activities can award Daevanion Crystals. Regional versions have also used Shugo Festa rewards, battle activities, fragments, and Substance Morph recipes.

Check the reward preview before skipping a quest or activity. The icon is not enough. Confirm whether the reward is general, Ariel, Azphel, or tied to another board.

Regional recipes have offered both low-chance attempts and guaranteed conversions at a higher material cost. Compare the full expected cost. Several cheap failures can consume more than the guaranteed recipe.

Do not assume resets are free

The board interface may offer a reset, but the cost and restrictions can change by version. Check the confirmation screen before experimenting.

If a reset costs a limited resource, take a screenshot of the planned route or write down the target nodes first. A minute of planning is cheaper than buying the same path twice.

Verify the result in combat

After completing a route, open Board Effect and review the stats and skills now active. Then test the build in content you already know.

A higher displayed power number does not always mean the character performs better. Time a familiar rotation, watch resource use, and check whether the upgraded skill appears often enough to justify the investment.

A safe first route

For your first board investment:

• Choose one skill you already use often.
• Find a reachable node that improves it.
• Check every connecting node and the total crystal cost.
• Compare it with one alternative route.
• Spend only after you know what the completed path gives you.

That is slower than clicking the nearest glowing node. It is much faster than rebuilding a scattered board later.
