Aion 2 Rift and Shugo Festival times: scheduling legion events around them
Shugo Festival runs every hour and Spacetime Rifts open every three hours. How to plan legion runs, sieges and raids so members don't have to choose, and what is still unconfirmed about the Global clock.
Every legion officer in Aion 2 Global has posted a dungeon run, then watched half the group disappear for a Spacetime Rift or a Shugo Festival round. Both events repeat on a fixed cycle, so you can plan around them instead of competing with them.
This guide covers what the cycles are, what is still uncertain about them on Global, and how to schedule legion events so members don't have to pick between the legion and the Rift.
What NCSOFT has and hasn't published
We could not find an official NCSOFT timetable for Spacetime Rift or Shugo Festival on the Global servers. The schedules below come from community trackers that compare the game client's data with in-game observation. Where they agree, we say so. Where they disagree, we say that too. Your in-game clock and notices always win.
Shugo Festival: every hour, on the hour
Community sources agree that the Shugo Festival starts every hour at :00 server time, every day.
According to MetaBot's Shugo Festival page, which lists Global client data as its source:
- The festival is held in Verteron and Altgard, and you open it from Main Menu → Shugo Festival.
- The lobby opens 3 minutes before the round, and rounds last about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Rewards scale with level and rank, and everyone who takes part gets a participation reward. A Shugo Festival Reward Key doubles them.
- Keys refill by 3 a day at 16:00 server time, up to 12 stored, or 21 with the paid membership.
What this means for scheduling. The festival takes roughly the first ten minutes of every hour. Members with keys to spend will want some of those windows, but not all of them. Starting legion events at a quarter past the hour costs nobody a round.
Spacetime Rift: every three hours
Sources agree on the cycle: a Spacetime Rift opens every three hours, and its entrance stays open for about 10 minutes. Daeva Guides' timers page adds that once you are through, you have about an hour on the other side.
They do not agree on which hours. Daeva Guides and Aion2Data report Global openings at 00:00, 03:00, 06:00 and so on, in UTC. Aion2Data also notes that the client's own table lists every three hours from 02:00, which matches the Korean servers.
There is a second open question. Daylight saving time ended in Europe on October 25 and ends in North America on November 1. Daeva Guides notes that trackers disagree on whether the Global server clocks follow local daylight saving. Depending on which is right, your local Rift times either stay the same or move an hour earlier. GuildManager's timers currently assume the server clocks follow daylight saving, so they keep local Rift times the same. Check the first Rift after each change in game before you rebuild your schedule around it.
What this means for scheduling. A Rift is a ten-minute decision followed by an hour of commitment. Don't start a legion event in the ten minutes before a Rift opens. If your legion runs Rifts together, put the Rift on the calendar as the event.
Daily and weekly reset
The trackers also agree on reset times. Global daily reset is 16:00 Korean time, 07:00 UTC, and weekly reset falls on Wednesday at the same time. The weekly reset is a natural anchor for the legion's week.
Building a legion week around the cycles
A few patterns work well:
- Start at a quarter past. An event that starts at :15 sits after the Shugo Festival round and gives late arrivals a few minutes.
- Keep the Rift hours clear, or make them the event. Either avoid the ten minutes before a Rift opens, or schedule a legion Rift run at that time.
- Put big runs soon after the weekly reset. Members who have not spent the week's runs yet are easier to fill a group with.
- Post in the server's clock and let tools convert it. Members on one server can still live in several time zones. Give the server time once and let a tool show everyone their own time.
- Leave room for sieges and field bosses. If your legion contests artifact sieges or world bosses, they compete with both events. Put them on the same calendar so officers see the clashes.
Run it in GuildManager
Timers. The Aion 2 timers page counts down to Shugo Festival, Spacetime Rift, bosses such as Watcher Kaira and Guardian Lord Nahma, sieges and resets in your local time. Choose your server region: NA East, NA West, Europe, Latin America, Asia, Korea or Taiwan. The timers follow that server's clock through daylight saving changes, and the page shows which timezone the times use so you can compare them with the in-game clock. The same timers are in the desktop app.
Discord alerts. In your guild's Discord settings, under Game-Specific, pick a channel for event alerts. Choose what to announce (Shugo Festival, Spacetime Rift, bosses or any mix), set your server region, and post 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes before the start. Each alert shows the start time in every reader's own time zone and links to the timers page. If you only want the alerts that change plans, pick Spacetime Rift and bosses. A Shugo alert posts every hour.
Legion events. Schedule runs as activities with signups and post them to Discord. Members answer from the Discord post, the web or the desktop app. One-off activities are on Free. Weekly recurring events, templates and reminder pings need Core.
Treat every schedule here, ours included, as a heads-up rather than a live spawn report. If the game disagrees, trust the game, and tell us so we can fix the timers.
