How Throne and Liberty guilds distribute boss loot with GuildManager
Archboss, guild raid and field boss drops in Throne and Liberty: earn DKP from attendance, then hand out items by auction, loot roll or loot council, with Potential Abilities and every award on record.
When a Throne and Liberty guild kills an Archboss or a guild raid boss, the hard part comes after the fight. Someone has to decide who gets the drop, explain why, and actually hand it over before people start asking in Discord.
The game handles the handover. Officers distribute guild loot to members in game, and Throne and Liberty keeps adjusting what can be distributed. Update 2.4.0, for example, let guilds distribute some awards unevenly to all members, not only participants. Check your guild's distribution settings in game after each major update.
GuildManager handles the decision and the record: who earned what, who wanted what, who won, and whether the item was delivered. This guide walks through that, boss by boss.
Step 1: schedule the boss and record attendance
Points and fair decisions start with knowing who showed up.
In GuildManager, Throne and Liberty activities come with presets for the content guilds fight over: Archbosses such as Ascended Queen Bellandir and Ascended Tevent, guild raids such as Ascended Daigon, field bosses, the Altar of Calanthia raid, and sieges such as Stonegard Castle. Post the activity to Discord and members sign up from the message.
On the night, record attendance with manual, PIN or screenshot check-in on Free. On Core, Discord voice attendance can take snapshots of who is in your voice channels. See Discord voice attendance.
GuildManager does not detect boss kills from the game. An officer confirms who was there.
Step 2: turn attendance into points
On Core, an activity can award points when attendance is recorded. You set separate amounts for participants, the leader and an MVP, so the shotcaller and the player who held the line can earn more.
Points need a way to lose value, or early members end up owning every future drop. Scheduled decay can take a percentage, take a fixed amount, or reset balances, with a minimum threshold so new members are not decayed to nothing. Every award, decay run and manual change lands in the points ledger.
Name the currency whatever your guild calls it. DKP is the usual choice. Bids always use these guild points, never Lucent.
Step 3: pick a distribution method per boss
Different bosses deserve different rules. Many guilds use something like this:
| Drop | Common method | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Archboss weapons and rare drops | Auction in DKP, or loot council | Highest value, so effort and need should decide |
| Guild raid bosses | Auction in DKP | Regular drops that reward steady attendance |
| Field boss drops | Loot roll | Frequent and lower stakes, where speed matters |
| Items the guild keeps | Guild bank | Hold until the right member needs it |
These are editorial suggestions. Write your rule down before the next boss, and keep it the same for everyone.
Auctions: bid with DKP
Start an auction from the web or with /auction start in Discord, or create many at once with /auction bulk. Choose open bids, sealed bids or second price, and set a starting bid, a minimum step and a duration. You can let late bids extend the closing time, up to a limit you set.
Members bid with buttons on the Discord post and see what is open with /auction list. GuildManager checks each bid against the member's balance, including points already committed to other auctions, so nobody bids the same DKP twice.
When the auction closes, the winner is recorded. Officers can award an unsold item, reverse a wrong award or relist the item. Awards and reversals carry a reason members can see.
Loot rolls: fast and simple
For field boss drops, a loot roll is quicker than an auction. Create a roll session, let eligible members roll, and the winner is recorded. You can charge an entry fee in points if your guild wants rolls to cost something, and the session shows previous winners of the item so the same person does not take every drop.
Loot council: officers decide, with reasons
For the drops that matter most, some guilds would rather decide than auction. A council session can collect votes from officers, or just collect interest from members for an officer to decide. Votes can be anonymous, and you can attach an optional points price to the award. The officer who awards the item can add a reason, which stays with the award. See loot council vs DKP for how the two systems compare.
Potential Abilities and wishlists
In Throne and Liberty, the Potential Ability on a drop can matter as much as the item. When officers create an auction, loot roll, council session or guild bank entry, they can record the ability that actually rolled.
Members keep wishlists of the items they want, with a priority and a note, and can add Potential Ability goals too. The guild bank shows when a stored item's ability matches an active wishlist. A wishlist tells officers who wants what. It does not decide the winner on its own. Our Potential Abilities guide covers this in detail, and the item database lets members look items up.
Step 4: hand it over and keep the record
Winning an item in GuildManager does not put it in a member's bag. An officer still distributes it in game.
That gap is where items get lost, so GuildManager tracks it. Officers mark each item as distributed, and GuildManager records who confirmed it and when. /auction handover lists auction items still waiting to be delivered.
Every award keeps the recipient, the time, the source, the item and ability, the cost and the reason. Members see what they have received with /loot mine. Loot actions are also written to the audit log, so when someone asks why an item went where it did, there is an answer.
What it costs
Activities, signups, check-in and Discord posts are on Free. Points, auctions, loot rolls, loot council, wishlists and the guild bank are Core modules. See pricing.
